Dear friends, I want to tell you something: If you have a computer and care even a little bit about the files, photos, music, and programs that you have on it--get thee to a store where you can purchase an external hard drive right away. And use it faithfully.
I finally got my computer's restoration disc. I lost everything I had on my computer. Pictures. Books almost finished. Tons of downloadable items. Every photo that was already resized correctly that would make getting my baby boutique back up faster. Gone.
I am going to go have a little cry now. Goodbye.

So terrible! You can also have backup on another server since even external hard drives can get hit by lightening, be damaged by water etc. Carbonite offers on line back up that automatically takes place as you are working for less than $50 a year as does Mosy Home. We have just gone through a similar situation and had an external hard drive but files hadn't been saved to it for awhile and now weeks of financial data have to be re done. It's hard enough to do this stuff once-what you're going through is terrible!
